Be grateful you've only got one mother, says Interflora

Mother's Day campaigns can be a big old pile of slushy sentimentality, so thank heavens for Interflora's quirky - and ever so slightly creepy - offering this year.

In Love Like a Mother, Wonderful Agency Los Angeles and director Jamie McCelland mine a rich seam of comedy in the bizarre concept of strangers acting like mums. Out of their proper context, tender maternal gestures come across as downright weird. 

How would you feel if your seatmate on the bus handed you a tissue and instructed you to blow (and then "give me a little more")? Or if a colleague tucked you in as you took an afternoon snooze at your desk? And then there's the moment a police interrogator utters the dreaded parental phrase: "We're not mad. We're just disappointed."

Luckily, the flower company reminds us, you only have one mum - so why not spoil her this Mother's Day and treat her to a nice bouquet?
