They say an elephant never forgets, but judging by this clever ad for animal rights organisation Animalife, neither does a dog...
Havas Portugal are behind the new campaign, which portrays that palm-sweating moment at customs when a sniffer dog starts going ballistic. The traveller is promptly hauled into a side room by officials and his suitcase searched for drugs or other illegal items.
Yet, despite shaking out all his clothes, and ripping a teddy bear apart, there's nothing to be found - but the dog continues to bark. Cue everyone's worst nightmare: an intimate rectal examination (the latex gloves are snapped on in lingering slo-mo).
At this point, you're feeling pretty sorry for the unfortunate bloke, but there's a twist: as he collects his bag and looks into the hound's face, he has a sudden flashback: this is the dog he abandoned years ago in a field. Pure poetic justice - and proof that karma really is a bitch.
The spot was directed by Paco Cruz via Major West.
