Blocket Jobb’s work in progress

Created by Stockholm agency Volt, and directed by Kasper Häggström through Bacon, these two droll ads for Blocket Jobb capture that wave of autumn ennui many suffer when returning to their jobs after the summer hols.

Hoping to inspire those who might be contemplating a career change, the spots are set in the canteen of an amusement park, where a self-styled ‘wacky' boss attempts to amuse his doleful employees, and at a medieval beheading, where an executioner complains to his soon to be headless victim about his poor work-life balance.

Kasper Häggström commented: “As a director I'm constantly asking myself if life would be easier if I chose another path. And as a half Swede I'm also constantly wondering how it would be to work with full Swedes. After working with Volt on this project my conclusions are: ‘Probably not’ and ‘Great’.
