Whilst it might not be the cosy likes of Stephen Fry, Dawn French and Mickey Mouse, JD Sports' festive offering this year might be able to lay claim to being the most star-studded spot of the season.
Following last year's protagonist Cole Weallean-Watts as he goes on a family shopping trip, King of the Game's action soon transfers to an arcade filled with blink-and-you'll-miss-them glances of sportspeople, musicians and general famous types.
Featuring a host of celebs including [deep breath] KSI and Tobi Brown on the dance machine, British rappers Bugzy Malone, Knucks and Arrdee battling it out on the air hockey table, boxing icon Anthony Joshua, Top Boy’s Jasmine Jobson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago Silva, Virgil van Dijk James Maddison, Harvey Elliott, Ella Toone, Chloe Kelly, Chunkz, Central Cee, slowthai, Ms Banks, and Kano, as well as cameros from Amaria BB (music artist), Kojey Radical (Mercury Award nominated music artist), Ethan Matthews and Laurie Elle (TikTok stars), Fumez The Engineer (music producer), Ojerime (R&B artist), Harry Pinero (YouTuber & presenter), PK Humble (comedian), Snoochie Shy (presenter), Joanna Chimonides (TV personality), R.A.E (music artist) and Amelia Dimoldenberg (YouTuber & TV presenter). Phew!
Created by agency Cake and directed by Rollo Jackson through Somesuch, the film's breakneck pace, on-brand appearances and deliberate absence of tinsel make for a breath of fresh air in the current festive flurry.
