Tackling the inequalities of social mobility with a genuinely chilling edge, horror short Stay Down is a surprise gut-punch of a film from Creature London.

Created for the Department For Opportunities, with direction and writing from OB Management's Thomas James, the film stars This Is England veteran Michael Socha as a hangdog worker suffering class prejudice.

Utilising the naturalistic acting style Socha alongside surreal horror imagery and disturbing montage, giving the piece an internationally unsettling effect, the short's clever premise and construction makes for a shocking and focused comment on a very real issue.

“Classism survives when it’s allowed to hide in the shadows," comments John Osborne, Creative Director at Creature London. "We knew we had to continue our unexpected category approach to cut through and shine attention on the issue. To get people talking, of course, but ultimately to apply pressure on those in power holding others down simply because of their background.”
