What does a king do on their time off? Well, according to the latest Marvel-lous spot for Direct Line from Saatchi & Saatchi, all King Valkerie wants is a lovely trip to the seaside.
Continuing the brand's big-budget-busting We're On It series, King Valkyrie’s Time Off sees the MCU's finest Asgardian monarch, played by Tessa Thompson, take an unexpected detour to the British coast, where we see her lounging on the beach, devouring fish and chips, and chilling on a merry-go-round (whilst her faithful winged horse, Warsong, relaxes with some donkeys on the beach).
Directed by Hungry Man's Bryan Buckley, the entertaining spot neatly subverts the 'superheroes gotta superhero' trope with some fitting whimsy, and, whilst not being quite as anarchic as Taika Waititi's big-screen vision, manages to give the multiverse-spanning franchise a delightfully British spin.
