Production company Friend introduce us to director Paul Herrmann.

Herrmann got into directing via skateboarding… In fact, he attributes pretty much everything to skateboarding. Living in Berlin, his life orbited around a skate shop called the Civilist. It was here that he first picked up a camera to film him and his mates doing tricks on their boards.

At the same time, he was picking up the odd modelling gig here and there, and it was his model agent (knowing his love for film) that put a camera in his hands to shoot behind the scenes at Paris Fashion week 2017. A film originally intended to show prospective models what life is like behind the catwalk, all of sudden picked up by Dazed,  and the rest, as they say, was history!

From there, the brands kept coming, from Prada to Fendi and Versace wanting access to his style of film-making.

Over lockdown, Herrmann returned to a project he'd started in 2018 documenting a road trip in the US. This 60 page testament to his spirit of adventure and living in the moment Time Will Tell was featured in The Face, and held up as an antidote to lockdown and a vision of hope for the future .

At the age of 24, Herrmann has already worked for some notable international brands Beats, Mercedes-Benz and Adidas to drop a few.

Friend are happy to offer him for commercials, branded content and music videos!
