Directors David Hicks and Kevin Fitzgerald have signed with Third Street Mining Company (3MC) for exclusive US commercial representation.

Hicks began his commercial directing career through a somewhat less common entry point, as an editor.  He quickly built a reputation for himself, founding Panic & Bob (P&B) Editing in the late 90's, where he worked on hundreds of commercials for clients across the board. P&B quickly became one of the most successful post-production boutiques in Canada.  Hicks' time in the editing room sparked an interest and passion for directing. He quickly made the successful transition, working with clients such as Toyota, Captain Morgan's, Molson, Pepsi, Labatts, and Cadbury, to name a few.

A fan of alternative advertising, Hicks directed a feature-length motion picture titled "The Movie Out Here" in 2012 for Kokanee (the Labatt beer brand) from Grip Ltd in association with Alliance Films.  "Hicks' ambition to be on the forefront of advertising trends was definitely part of his appeal to us at 3MC – his work doesn't state the obvious, which is important to me," says John LaChapelle, owner/EP. "He also has a wicked sense of humor, which falls right in line with our company culture."

In 2006, Hicks joined forces with Dan Ford and Liane Thomas to launch Sons and Daughters, a production company located in downtown Toronto.

Fitzgerald began his work behind the camera as a fashion photographer, where he collected notoriety and awards on the international scale. He embarked on his directing career somewhat by accident, when he was shooting stills on a German TV show and was offered a job directing the show instead.  Fitzgerald was quickly signed to Egg Films (Cape Town) for commercial representation where he worked with brands such as Lexus, BMW, Amstel and Mercedes.

"I've worked with Kevin before.  He has a unique style that has always been intriguing to me," says LaChapelle. "It's really great to be working with him again.  With his photography and fashion background, he brings an interesting perspective to the commercial world on all levels whether it be automotive or visual storytelling – he has a skill in making anything beautiful."
