Amsterdam-based production company Halal is the force behind the most recent ASOS campaigns, both shot in Los Angeles.

Known for being an expert in spotting and grooming the freshest talent to come out of the Netherlands, Halal has put forward two of their most promising exports to the London based fashion giant.

Emma Westenberg, a 27-year-old director, who has had films published on Dazed Digital and SHOWstudio, as well as won the 'Best New Fashion Film' award in Milan in 2016, and whose signature is one of a kind – girlie, youth-focused, goofy and insanely cool – directed the 'Prom Campaign' for the US market. Promposing being a huge trend for high school kids, Emma has directed several mini films showing us just how it’s done.

For their 'Jeans' by ASOS campaign, ASOS picked 27-year-old director Mees Peijnenburg, who has made waves with his beautiful award winning fiction work in the past few years. Peijnenburg’s cool aesthetic and style proved to set the right tones for the punchy 'Jeans Campaign'.

Looking at Halal’s ever growing international visibility, both in terms of talent as well as productions & clients, certainly makes it an interesting guess to see where these Dutch boys & girls are heading to...
