Interrogate Signs Antony Hoffman
The well-known director made 2015's Super Bowl ad for FIAT, “The Blue Pill”
Interrogate announces the signing of notable ad director Antony Hoffman. Throughout his lengthy career he's helmed award-winning creative advertising campaigns for a vast array of major brands, many of these ads have become memorable and recognizable works.
Antony delighted audiences and critics alike with 2015's Super Bowl ad for FIAT, “The Blue Pill”, showcasing his knack for telling compelling - and sometimes, delightfully absurd - stories using his nuanced and distinctive visual style.
In his native South Africa, captivated by the tumultuous strife, he began as a journalist for the International Press Syndicates AP and ITN, documenting anti-apartheid uprisings around Cape Town. His raw and emotional style has since defined his cinematic approach. His subsequent narrative short films brought him to the United States where he began his celebrated commercial career.
As both director and cameraman, his versatility and distinct storytelling style are recognizable across multiple advertising campaigns. He is one of the most sought after commercial directors both in the US and internationally, earning him multiple Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, and honors at the London Film Festival. Whether creating international web campaigns for brands like Toyota’s Avalon series with Idris Elba or his acclaimed work of the iconic Super Bowl “Clydesdales” for Budweiser, Antony’s energized spirit and exacting perspective deftly complements his cinematic outlook. He’s been an early pioneer of longer form web content, with notable works for Lamborghini and Mercedes. He has collaborated with many diverse celebrities, among them, Penelope Cruz, Benedict Cumberbatch, David Beckham, and Antonio Banderas.
“Antony’s imaginative filmmaking and nuanced storytelling have made him one of the most prolific directors in the market,” explains Interrogate Executive Producer/Partner George Meeker. “He’s compelled to make films whatever the odds are against him. It’s just that kind of spirit and talent that we’re excited to partner with at Interrogate.”
