This new spot, shot by director Stevie Russell through Red Rage Films, is a visual representation of the uphill battle that continues to be fought by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association.
Since 2016, on both a local and national level, Lidl has brought #SeriousSupport to the association and its members by investing over €4million. During this time, there has been a shift in attitudes towards the game, with support rising to an all-time high, and with multiple attendance records broken. Yet a significant gap still exists between ladies Gaelic footballers and their male counterparts at all levels of the game.
The spot was shot on location in Glendalough, County Wicklow, way back in early 2020, and aims to show the struggle that ladies’ Gaelic footballers face in striving for equality.
