Unless you’re one of those super nervy flyers keen to be fully prepped when your plane – inevitably – plummets from the sky soon after take off, you’re unlikely to find on-board safety films that riveting.
But this video, directed by Peter Lydon, who co-wrote the script with the team at 180 Kingsday, will keep you on the edge of your seat, well strapped in throughout, with its entertaining twist on the pre-match team talk.
It features football legends – Brazilian player Neymar Jr, FC Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski and AS Roma legend Cafu – being led through the in-flight safety routine by a comedic double act of coach and kitman, played, respectively, by British TV regular Jason Thorpe and comedy actor Ross Hatt.
The six-minute film scores high with a host of treats, including an emergency exit singalong with extra chanting, and is due to be shown on board Qatar flights before the end of the year.
