Steven Gray Takes on Creative Director Role at Radar Studios

Radar's new CD Steven Gray celebrates Shark Week.

Radar Studios, Chicago has promoted Steven Gray to Creative Director. Gray's artistic direction and attention to detail have contributed to the success of multiple campaigns for Radar, according to EP Lisa Masseur, and he continues to play a key role in the companyʼs growth.

"Stevenʼs role has been evolving since he joined the Radar team," says Masseur. "He'll now be acting as the point person on animation and design projects, both for clients and for our live action directors. Campaigns that involve mixing live action with VFX and/or animation is a true specialty of ours, and Steven will lead our teams in those areas."

Since he joined Radar in October of 2006, Gray has worked on every major animation project that's come through the studio, Masseur adds. His most recent successes include campaigns for Samsung's Galaxy S smartphone and Galaxy Tab, as well as multiple spots for NASCAR and McDonaldʼs. He will continue to help shape Radar's overall design philosophy and style. A Chicago-area native, Gray freelanced for many Chicago design shops before he landed at Radar. "Itʼs a great opportunity to explore and incorporate new styles and techniques with the team," he says about his promotion.

Also moving up the ranks at Radar is 3D Artist Mark Angres, who will now head up the 3D department. Angres joined Radar in 2003, and has done extensive 3D animation work for Airheads, McDonald's and Hasbro during his time at the studio.
