Director Ben Hume-Patton Signs with Saville for US Representation

British commercial director Ben Hume-Paton has signed with Saville Productions for US representation. Hume-Paton has a portfolio of work that includes spots for such brands as Nike, Lipitor, Honda, Clairol, Biore, Sony and E45. He recently completed his first US project for Veet via Euro RSCG, New York.
"I'm very excited to be directing work for the US market," states Hume-Paton. "Like most kids I grew up on American films and TV shows, and it has always been a huge part of my life. I love the optimism of the States, which I always find refreshing. I'm looking forward to spending more time there."
A winner of the Fuji Film Scholarship, Hume-Paton graduated with a degree in graphic design and started out directing music videos and setting up his own creative production company. IDP. During this time many young bands made their first videos with him. His music promos soon lead him into the realm of television commercials and he received acclaim for his direction on campaigns for Nike and Biore.
In 2007, while working for UK fashion brand Next on their catwalk fashion shows, Hume-Patton pitched and won the creative assignment to make their first commercial in 15 years. It was such a success that Next asked him to write and direct many of their follow-up campaigns. In addition to his commercials and music videos projects, Hume-Patton has also been active in television, working on the BBC's award-winning automotive show "Top Gear," where he directed an episode that chronicled a Land Rover Discovery traversing the highest road in the Andes. He also recently directed an aviation series titled "Jetstream" for Discovery Europe.
He's also been creatively involved with Honda, supplying their car launch films for the last three years, as well as working on content project for companies such as Pfizer, Hitachi, Yahoo and Microsoft.
"Directing for me incorporates all the things we're interested in," explains Hume-Pation. "It's about looking around you, getting inspired, creating and making things. I love the constant stimulation. Ultimately, this allows me to approach any given project with a unique and personal vision."
Rupert Maconick, Saville's Executive Producer, agrees. "Ben has a passion for doing fresh and arresting work," says Maconick, "whether it be fashion, heartfelt documentary style campaigns or visual storytelling."
