A short, brutal film honoring the 40th Anniversary of the disaster-response charity, Solidarités International.
A heap of balloons, easily recognizable as a mainstay of birthday celebrations, anniversaries, and other parties, appear among the rubble of cities impacted by war and natural disasters. The sounds of ‘Happy Birthday’ play over softly. Suddenly, sharply, the balloons pop, imitating gunfire.
In this impactful and startling spot directed by Theo Gottlieb, the sound design makes a huge impact, juxtaposed against the familiar tune. 40th Anniversary was produced by Birth in collaboration with ad agency Socialclub Paris.
