The Sweet Shop Signs Director Kathi Prosser
The multi-talented director and creative joins The Sweet Shop.

A multi-talented director who boasts a long list of creative accolades, Kathi’s film work pulls from a lifetime of achievements spread across media, print, design, advertising, and VFX to create work that boasts powerful performances, stunning visuals, and a clear artistic voice. Considered to be one of the most sought after directors in the world, Kathi has amassed a client list that includes Guinness, Molson, Lux, Dove, Tresemme, Apple, AT&T, and JCPenney among many others.
“With board flow now from agencies all over the world, it feels great to be managed by one boutique style company, a kind of macro micro approach to today’s global market,” says Prosser of her decision to sign with The Sweet Shop. “It’s seamless and I love it.”
A graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, Kathi got her start in graphic design creating award winning album art for companies like BMG, Sony Music, EMI, and Columbia. The praise and attention she got there allowed her to quickly move into motion graphics work where she created and designed opening title segments for CBC, CTV, and UPN. From there, Kathi took a leap into the director’s chair and created the wildly popular, Grammy nominated “Mega Mix” videos for Moby’s album, “Play”.
For four years, Kathi ran the AIGA award winning multimedia firm The Wing Group. While there, she made several projects including the short films “Death’s Fable,” “Fly or Fall,” and the globally toured “Horses Never Lie” which won an American Choreography Award for Outstanding Achievement. Her television spots, including the Bessie Award winning pieces “Sick Kids” and “Looking Glass”, have garnered praise from popular and critical circles alike and earned nods from Cannes and D&AD.
“Kathi’s individuality, intelligence and warmth is apparent when you meet her, but also clearly shines through her work,” says Laura Thoel, Managing Director of The Sweet Shop Los Angeles. “She has a sense of style in her framing and art direction that sets her apart from the rest, and she is superb with natural, real performances.”
A long time favorite among actors and performers, Kathi credits her ability to produce deep, moving performances to her many years spent in front of the camera working as a model and actress. Her deep and varied understanding of actor needs has allowed her to collaborate with her on-screen talent time and time again to create richly affective performances that brim with life.
“Kathi brings a power to her work that is truly unique and expresses itself through all the elements of her craft,” says Paul Prince, The Sweet Shop’s CEO and Founding Partner. “It’s a privilege to be a part of this passion. I’ve been honored to be on Kathi’s management team for over ten years and am very pleased that this now continues globally.”
