This new campaign for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation [UNESCO] conjures the familiar backdrop of an American diner, but pairs it with a shocking scene of cold-blooded murder.

Directed by The Royal Production Company's Alberto Blanco, the 70-second spot features an initially innocuous setting, with smiling diners happily eating their meals. One such patron is a middle-aged man, a journalist it transpires, with a laptop open in front of him and series of photos he's flicking through.

Events then take a decidedly darker turn as a man holding a gun walks into the restaurant and makes a beeline for the journalist. The gunman then aims at and shoots the journalist in broad daylight, in full view of the other diners.

In response to this, not a cry is uttered; no one reacts, recoils or even raises their eyes, and,  uncontested, the gunmen turns and leaves the crowded restaurant.

The spot is an appeal for the protection of those who are brave enough to speak out against repression, tyranny and violence. It calls, in an age of fake news, mass ideology and media censorship, for the protection of those who seek to reveal the truth.
