By his own admission, Krupka’s route into filmmaking has been ‘atypical’.
An aerospace engineering graduate, Krupka spent four years as a commissioned officer in the US Air Force while continuing to create illustrations and animations for a variety of clients, including UK singer/songwriter Labrinth, aka Timothy Mackenzie.
The extraordinary story of the album – which features guest vocals by Sia and Zendaya and was released November last year – has been brought to life in this splendidly weird short film that follows a boy navigating his way through to adulthood, battling opposing forces of creativity and commerce, salvation and sin.
Krupka started working on the visuals in September 2019, collaborating with animation director Peach Quintana to produce a film that offers surprises at every dizzying turn.
