Back in 2020, as a response to the rise in Anti-Asian violence following Covid, the team at W+K created a fantastic, ultimately Cannes-winning thought-piece film named Call It COVID.
Now in 2022, and in the midst of AAPI Heritage Month, the same team has come together to produce The Myth, an intricate, hard-hitting montage drawing attention to, and condoning, the concept of Asian Americans being 'The Model Minority'; a false narrative weaponizing Asian Americans against other ethnic groups.
Directed by Biscuit Filmworks' Jackie Bao, the film's intimate photography, poetic narration, and compelling edit presents an authentic and heartbreaking view of the Asian experience.
