A picture, it is often said, is worth a thousand words, and these two short branded films, full of striking imagery that compels you to watch, are proof that saying is often true.

Winter Wonderland

First up we have Afterglow, a short film to promote Philips' Ambilight TV sets. Created by Sweetgrass Productions through Ahlstrand & Wallgren, the film follows a selection of four skiers as they take on snowy mountains that are beautiful and terrifying in equal measure. Oh and did we mentioned they are skiing in the dark? And that they're also covered in LED lights? No? Well they are.

The effect is amazing and the stunning images are only helped by the awesome soundtrack that plays over them. You can read more about Afterglow by clicking here.

Burning Desire

Our second short is from Leo Burnett Beirut and we go from the harshest cold to an untameable fire as Johnnie Walker asks us to keep our flame alive. The near three-minute short features huge desert vistas but concentrates on a flame burning from the ground which fog, rain and wind try to extinguish but to no avail.

Directed by Hadi, through Stoked Films, the images are accompanied by some inspired and inspiring copywriting proving, as with Afterglow, that while a picture may be worth a thousand words, the two together can sometimes be priceless. You can read more about Keep Our Flame Alive here.
