Gutenberg Networks have teamed with Adam&EveDDB to create a non-traditional golf advertisement for a revolutionary new club by Lynx: the Boom Boom 2. This TVC is accompanied by digital, print and social media executions that help introduce the club’s “Hot 1 Technology.” The spot avoids sensationalising the new tech and highlights the club’s USP (a heated head that increases pressure and transfer of energy to the ball) in a remarkably understated fashion. Rather than stitching together a series of hero shots on the fairway-as so many golf adverts do-the spot simply puts the club in place of everyday heating elements such as a radiator, iron and camp fire. The spot’s subtle nature makes it intriguing and satisfying to re-watch. Though, with a name like Boom Boom 2, they couldn’t resist finishing the piece with one firm, satisfying drive.
