Lions Health open for entries

Lions Health, the new bespoke Festival and Awards celebrating creativity in healthcare marketing and communications, has opened for entries. Submissions are being accepted into two sections; Pharma, which is divided into Pharma Communications to Healthcare Professionals and Pharma Communications to Non-Healthcare Professionals categories; and Health & Wellness, covering the categories of Health & Wellness Consumer Products and Health & Wellness Education and Services. Work can be submitted across seven different media channels which comprise of Broadcast, Print, Outdoor, Direct and Promo & Activation, PR, Digital and Mobile and Integrated. A dedicated Awards Ceremony will reveal, celebrate and honour the winners of the first Lions Health trophies. Following this, the official Lions Health Gala will bring the Festival to a close, offering an unbeatable chance for networking and celebration with industry peers in Cannes. ADC 93rd Annual Awards juries announced

ADC, the first global creative collective of its kind and longest standing organisation championing the visual arts has announced the juries for the Advertising and Interactive categories for the 93rd Annual Awards. For 2014, the Annual Awards has refined its categories, removing some that are no longer current and adding others including Corporate and Personal Self-promotion, Mobile Games, Magazine/Newspaper Editorial, Video Games, Greeting Card Design and Children’s Book Design. There are also new subcategories in Digital Design, Photography and Illustration, as well as expanded interactive categories. The remaining juries will be announced in the coming weeks. AICE announces leadership transition

AICE has announced that executive director Burke Moody – who’s been actively involved with AICE almost since its founding in 1996 – has notified the Board that he will be leaving the association in the middle of next year. The news of incoming International Board co-presidents Craig Duncan of Cutters and Rachelle Madden of Poetica has also been confirmed. Moody will remain in his post through June of 2014, the completion of his eighth year as executive director, which will include the wrap up of AICE's signature event, the annual AICE Awards, slated for 15 May 2014 in New York.

AMP Awards announced

Following the success of the inaugural AMP Awards for Music & Sound earlier this year, the Association of Music Producers has announced plans for the 2014 competition and awards show.  The event will move to one of New York’s City Winery and will take place on Wednesday 7 May 2014. AMP will be posting full details on categories, fees, deadlines and eligibility requirements on its website early next year. In the Awards’ inaugural year, The Coca-Cola Company and McDonald’s took the stage – and trophies – as musical pioneers.  Two more inductees will be honoured by AMP at the 2014 Awards. As before, the 2014 Awards Show ceremony will feature live music, passed hors d’oeuvres, open bar and the industry’s best networking opportunity for music, advertising and brand professionals. 

Modus Operandi Launches Mod/Op Films

Modus Operandi & EP Rossi Cannon have joined forces to launch the multi-disciplinary Mod/Op Films, featuring the award-winning talent of 13 Keys, Steven Antin, KRONCK, Rane, David Popescu, Christopher Ferguson, Laurieann Gibson and Jonathan Teplitsky. The company launches with a 360 campaign directed by David Popescu with edit, design and animation by creative collective 13 Keys via agency Vitro and a digital campaign for Wild Turkey. Ogilvy launches K1ND

Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific is launching a new brand innovation unit. Based in Singapore, K1ND (pronounced ‘One Kind’) will be Ogilvy & Mather’s first brand innovation business in the region, with a strong focus on technology and design. K1ND is being created in a ground-breaking partnership with Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB), which is fostering the city’s creative industries and skills base. Covering Asia Pacific markets, K1ND will focus on two broad areas:  digitizing product experiences and and developing innovative digital services. Mondel?z International, the global snacking leader with power brands such as Cadbury chocolate, Oreo biscuits, Tang powdered beverages and Trident gum will be one of the first companies to partner with K1ND. In this new partnership, the company’s own innovation lab, Fly Garage, will collaborate with the new company to create breakthrough, technology-driven consumer experiences.

VICE acquires Carrot Creative

Global youth media brand and digital content studio VICE has acquired digital agency Carrot Creative. Carrot is known for its work within the digital space using various social media platforms. The addition of Carrot to Vice’s creative arsenal complements the creative and digital services that VICE currently offers its clients such as content-led user experiences, app and mobile development, and new advertising product creation, and will greatly increase its distribution capabilities, providing audiences with new ways to experience content across devices, screens, social networks, and digital platforms.

Bekery and JOTZ! become RABBICORN Media

Indy film companies, Bakery and JOTZ! founded in 2004 and 2007 respectively will join forces in the New Year to become RABBICORN Media. The new company will be headed by the founders and partners of both companies, Florian Sigl and Stefan Schuh from Bakery and Jan and Jule Behrens from JOTZ! RABBICORN will work with an exclusive roster of both local and international directors within the German market. RABBICORN will continue both companies' previous close co-operation with Mediakraft Networks in Cologne - the biggest YouTube network in Central Europe.
