Director Mees Peijnenburg is behind black and white short, A Hole in My Heart, that's been making the film festival rounds for the past couple of years.
Now publicly available, it's no surprise that it's bagged a Vimeo Staff Pick having already scooped up various international awards such as a Silver YDA at Cannes Lions 2015 and an Academy Awards Best Live Action Short in 2016.
The film is about a young boy who's coming to terms with a trauma that's plagued his life, although it's never actually explained in the short. We just hear him allude to it in the vocieover, where he acknowledges and accepts his eternal solitude... until he meets a girl.
Look out for an On My Radar with Mees tomorrow.
