In a revelation on par with the fact that bears do, in fact, defecate in the woods, a survey has found that on the Monday after Super Bowl Sunday, more people call in sick to work than any other day of the year.  

Cold and flu medication brand, Mucinex, gives a sly wink to the malingerers via its 2018 Super Bowl campaign, created by McCann New York/McCann Humancare. The centrepiece 30-second spot, which was directed by Speck & Gordon through Furlined, will run immediately following the game and sees slimy antihero Mr Mucus (animated by Psyop) blowing the whistle on all the hungover folk contemplating a sickie. It closes with the tagline - "Enjoy your 'sick day' America. When you're really sick, take Mucinex." 

The campaign also includes a Twitter #SuperSickMonday excuse generator and an integration with the Z100 morning show on #SuperSickMonday itself.
