London-based, Emmy-nominated filmmaker, photographer and artist Frederick Paxton has signed to Academy Films, having graduated from New York’s School of Visual Arts.
Paxton explores humanity in a lot of his work, combining journalism and art to unearth new truths about human nature through visuals, portraits or spending time on the front line in Aleppo. He helmed the documentary, Behind The Zero Line, about a small community caught between separatist and government forces in Ukraine, which was nominated for a Grierson Award, one of documentary filmmaking’s highest accolades, in 2017. His latest film, Harmony, focuses on identity in modern Russia and is currently touring film festivals internationally.
