This stunningly-crafted 3D animated film imagines an underwater world where marine creatures have fused with ocean trash, producing monstrous flesh-and-metal hybrids.
A graduate project co-directed by students Florian Brauch, Matthieu Pujol, Kim Tailhades, Yohan Thireau and Romain Thirion during their final year at CG animation school MoPA, the film has been taking the international short film festival circuit by storm, before getting its online premiere this week.
Playing out like a dystopian Blue Planet, it makes for a chilling, inventive warning of what pollution could ultimately do to our seas and has been rightly tipped as a contender for best animation in the 2019 Oscars.
Watch, marvel, and remember to recycle your rubbish. Or it might end up coming back as a massive, armour-plated shark.
