Volvo Construction Equipment: Pump It Up

Five years after Jean-Claude Van Damme did an Epic Split between two Volvo trucks, Forsman & Bodenfors have returned with a follow-up spot showing off the brand's heavy machinery.

The new film, directed by Tompa & Rondo through The Producers, is set in a deserted quarry and stars another action movie stalwart, Dolph Lundgren, who roars up in a cloud of dust to put a fleet of Volvo diggers through their paces. "Rise and shine, maggots!" he bellows. "I'm here to pump you up!"

And pump them up he does, in an awe-inspiring mechanical boot-camp that sees the machines executing giant tyre flips, push-ups and even pull-ups while Lundgren lip-synchs to Technotronic's club classic, Pump Up The Jam. The ad might not have the pure 'WTF?' charm of its predecessor, but it's hands-down the most entertaining thing we've seen all day.
