Naked Elephant: Long Way Home

This new promo from Joyrider director Reuben Sutherland features beautifully designed collage photography and multi-layered postcard effects of the band performing. The video was shot around iconic Nevada locations in Red Rock and Valley of Fire, the band’s hometown.

With a nod to the amazing collage style artworks of John Stezaker, Sutherland's approach was to combine unrelated photographic elements and compose them in locations featuring the band. Finding unexpected photographic elements in Nevada gave him a rich tapestry of beautiful backdrops to continue the band’s road trip story with some impressive typography.

"Even on the location scout it was clear that there were many stunning landscapes that Reuben could shoot and combine with his penchant for design and heightened reality FX," says Joyrider. "Each scene is so mesmerising that it creates a tightly choreographed sequence of transitions, that gives the piece a powerful continuity of travelling along the roads of Nevada."
