While much of Europe contends with wind, rain, freezing temperatures and no small amount of snow, elsewhere in the world - specifically Australia -  it's summertime. The appearance of the sun doesn't always bode well (the country is in the middle of a record, dangerously hot heat wave) but it does mean BBQs, and to celebrate that fact here's a very funny new spot for Australian Lamb, via Meat and Livestock Australia.

Building on the brand platform ‘Share the Lamb’, the integrated campaign sets out to extend the ‘rosemary sprig’ to neighbouring New Zealand and bridge the divide over something everyone can agree on - lamb.

The spot, directed by Tim Bullock through Sydney agency The Monkeys, takes us back to 1900 when Australia’s first Prime Minister, Edmund Barton, is finalising the Constitution Act and makes New Zealand part of The Commonwealth. This historical fact then inspires two modern day Aussie politicians to connect both countries again.

The stage is then set for both nations to come together over a lamb barbecue, among a huge floating party in the middle of the Tasman Sea. The comical ad, which references Australia's oft-changing prime ministerial hot-seat and the country's usual way of solving everything ("lamb and a Hemsworth") celebrates the best of both nations and joins the countries together for New Australia-land.
