As companies look to animators to create the next wave of new work, production company The Panics went old school for the Playgrounds (now-online) Festival.
Using zoetrope inspired stop-motion animation, The Panics create a bright, fun, and engaging multi-zoom call-inspired Main Credits for Playgrounds. As members of The Panics log onto a meeting, they hold up printed cards with geographic designs. Then they toss the top card away, revealing a second, slightly altered piece of paper. Combined with clever editing and impeccable timing, the credits are revealed in a bright, fun, innovative animatic.
Showing some serious planning and production chops, director Erwin van den IJssel presents an out of the box solution to quarantine animation. Some BTS pictures are below.
