As a sacred piece of football culture, a jersey stands for many things, but ultimately, it stands for the country it represents on the field.

To squash any comment that its redesign of Germany's football kit simply isn’t, well, German enough, sports apparel brand adidas has launched this dynamic and celebratory film, created by Jung von Matt through ANORAK Film, and titled Typical German, paying tribute to the country’s culture and quirks.

Through Sanjay De Silva’s distinctive directorial style, age-old stereotypes are celebrated with a subtle wink and absolutely no shame. The film flies between each member of the national team, who each get their moment to shine with Germany’s typically dry humour, surrounded by iconic locations and a diverse cast with the aim of showcasing every corner of the German identity.
