Created by W+K Tokyo, this brilliantly bizarre series of spots features the Swedish retailer’s soft toy shark, BLÅHAJ, brought to life as an excitable ‘Real Estate Shark’.
The mini-series follows the fishy fellow as he explains his fondness for small spaces and sees him hit the streets of Tokyo to find the perfect small apartment to makeover with the help of IKEA’s Interior Design Team.
His mission is to find a really tiny apartment in the city centre, fully furnish it with smart space-saving IKEA solutions and make it available to rent for a limited period (and exclusively for IKEA Family Members) for the insanely little price of 99 yen per month.
The spots are refreshingly bonkers and the fun of watching the 10m2 apartment kitted out with ingenious space-maximising furnishings is only heightened by the exuberant antics of the jolly Jaws-look-alike.
