Gently poking fun at premium European brand’s luxury positioning, Suzuki Australia has tasked Deloitte Digital/Melbourne to come up with a series of irreverent spots.
Emphasising the brand’s value, quality and essential fun-to-drive-ness, this spot directed by Sarah Adamson through Photoplay, appears at first to be one of those mildly vexing ads that depicts goofy youngsters trying too hard to be zany.
Titled Success, the ad then displays its typically Australian fondness for mocking self-aggrandisement as the VO explains that “Suzuki cars are designed for only the most successful people in Australia.”
The hapless funsters in the film, meanwhile, then increasingly reveal themselves to be engaged in the kind of next-level-goofines that sits more in the region of loser than winner.
