Serial Pictures Bows with Kaye, Akerlund and Others in Venture with Anonymous

Stephanie Bruni and Violaine Etienne have announced the launch of Serial Pictures, a production company they describe as a creative collective designed to seek out innovative talent.  Serial opens its doors as a joint venture with Anonymous Content.  It will be headquartered in New York, with a global network of satellite offices in Los Angeles, London and Paris. The new company reports it’s signed a collection of high-end directorial talent with a focus on looking beyond conventional commercial filmmakers to seek out artistically inclined individuals across the creative spectrum, from producers to directors to photographers.

"We wanted to send a message that we’re building a strong new brand with the launch of Serial Pictures," says Etienne. "We’re building Serial based on a unique and eclectic blend of creative minds and experience that will inspire clients to team up with us.”

One major focus of Serial Pictures will be to build a more integrated business model by instigating collaborative relationships between agencies and directors. "We're being very careful with whom we sign," adds Bruni.  "We want to make sure that they have similar approaches to advertising and the way we see the industry evolving in the near future."

Serial Pictures will represent Jonas Akerlund, Laurent Briet, Guzman, Tony Kaye, Johan Renck, Terry Richardson, and Cleo Sullivan. The East Coast sales team will consist of Anonymous' in-house duo of Paul Muniz and Lisa Sabatino, with midwest sales covered by David Wagner and the west by Stacey and Co's Stacey Altman and Tanya Cohen. Music videos will be handled by Laure Scott. European representation is in the works and will be announced shortly.

Bruni and Etienne met in Paris in 1991 while working at Bandits. They continued to collaborate on projects over the next two decades as they both relocated to the U.S.  Bruni's past work includes line producing for a range of brands, including Nike, Adidas, Lexus, L'Oreal, Maybelline and Victoria's Secret. She’s also worked with a roster of top directors, including Kuntz & Maguire, Stephane Sednaoui, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Spike Jonze and Roman Coppola, and has produced music videos for such artists as Jamiroquai, Beck, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fatboy Slim, R.E.M., Alanis Morissette, Daft Punk, Fiona Apple and Puff Daddy.  She founded production company Mister BoomBoom in 2003 with director Stephane Sednaoui, where she collaborated with clients such as Tommy Hilfiger, L'Oreal Paris, Hugo Boss, Pantene, Belvedere, Cover Girl, Replay and Kohl's.

Etienne's work spans the gamut from television commercials to music videos to fashion shows. Prior to co-founding Serial Pictures, Etienne spent several years as executive producer at Mister BoomBoom in New York, where she helped maintain a dynamic client list that included L'Oreal Paris, Maybelline NY, Cover Girl, Estee Lauder, LVMH, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, DKNY, Cacharel, Vera Wang for Kohl's, Target, Rembrandt and Garnier. Having produced over the course of a decade for the likes of John Galliano, Christian Dior, Victoria's Secret and Donna Karan, she’s also collaborated with agencies such as Grey Worldwide, Ericsson Fina, Peterson Milla Hooks and Mother New York.
