Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" might be a good proverb to cite to a picked-on kid, but it doesn't pass muster in this clash of communication.
Taking a lighter, more stylised approach than much of his earlier work, David Dearlove's Fighting Talk sees a verbal altercation between two lads turn into a syntax-shootout; the relative rudeness of each comment providing stronger and stronger blows.
Witty and perfectly paced, with an enjoyably filthy denouement, this fun short from the Blink director is a cracking showcase of Dearlove's narrative and comedic chops.
