Normally known for his larger-than-life characters, John Goodman takes a turn in a tiny town in the first televised brand campaign for Mattel-owned toy brand Fisher-Price.
In hero spot Let’s Be Kids, Goodman and agency Wieden+Kennedy Portland take aim at the audience's nostalgia buttons, filling the screen with familiar FP products, such as the Little People farmer and the evergreen Chatter Telephone.
Shot by Ringan Ledwidge via Rattling Stick, the spot's airy haze (somehow evoking the 'feeling' of play), glorious art direction and childhood-triggering script make us happy to be back in a place where "everything’s exactly how you left it".
Complimenting the campaign are a set of more product-specific spots, showcasing the playful benefits of various trinkets.
Brilliantly aping some familiar ad tropes, Biscuit's Andreas Nilsson sets a delightfully realised theme before each adorable reveal.
