British band Hot Chip has collaborated with director Maxim Kelly to create this wonderfully 80s themed video through Caviar, accompanying a track from their eighth album Freakout/Release.
In a spectacularly eccentric fusion of futuristic and retro culture, Broken imagines a not-too far away world where music videos are generated by artificial intelligence, whilst referencing the pop music video tropes of the past.
The video sees malfunctioning AI acting out the cliché, overly sentimental choreography performed by the boybands Hot Chip saw on MTV in their youth, but executed with deadpan, emotionless robotic precision.
