Kekra promo fuses comics and chaos
When French-Moroccan rapper Kekra - who always appears with his face obscured - asked Romain Chassaing to direct his new video, it gifted the director an opportunity to dig into his love of graphic novels.

The new track, called Putain De Salaire [roughly translated as Fucking Salary] is a futuristic tale of slave labour and radioactivity.
The plot centres around the unexpected effect of said toxic substance turning one of the underclass into a post-apocalyptic superhero who conceals his true identity.
Chassaing, who shot the promo through Solab Pictures, worked closely with DP Rik Zang, mixing references from Blade Runner and Alan Moore graphic novels, with a nod to Chinese director Wong Kar-wai, to create a stunning futuristic apocalyptic world.
