Nando’s new campaign, called This Must Be The Place, and created by New Commercial Arts London, aims to celebrate the uniqueness of the Nando’s experience.
Helmed by Jonathan Entwistle, the creator and director of the Netflix Original Series The End Of The F***ing World, and produced through Stink London, the spot uses a VO from a narrator called Eddie who talks his mates through a memorable night at Nando’s.
The spot then plays out scenarios synonymous with the chicken chain that also sees cameos from some of Nando’s famous fans including England footballer Bukayo Saka, Instagram's Grime Gran, TikTok chef LetsMunch and music artist Niko B.
"Nando’s is such a unique place," said Entwistle. "As a restaurant it obviously has its own distinct personality but, as a brand, it offers the opportunity to be really playful and cool. I wanted to make sure this energy ran through the film. Layering up the Nando's stories with the really distinct characters from the creative allowed me to really nail a tone that is so perfectly Nando’s.”
Nando’s has also unveiled its first ever sonic logo which is inspired by the brand's Southern African heritage and the ‘Afro-Luso’ music playlists in its restaurants, and the new sound will inform all brand touch points, including in-restaurant experience, advertising and internal communications.
