Nomad Editorial welcomes editor Jason Painter to the company. Painter is already at work in the New York office on an integrated Twix campaign (two spots and web film) via Nitro USA and Academy Award-nominated director Rob Pearlstein (Rockhard Films).
"Jason is incredibly talented and a great complement to our team of editors," notes company co-founder Tom Muldoon. "He is also a genuinely nice person who is honest and cares deeply about editing," adds co-founder John Murray. "I have watched him really come into his own as a creative force. We are very pleased to have him here."
Painter was thrust into the spotlight with his contribution to the Clio and Cannes-winning Terry Tate Office Linebacker campaign. He is known for such diverse and compelling projects as Zune's "Piece of Me, Piece of You" directed by Three Legged Legs and featuring life size puppets, commercial collaborations with Jason Reitman (Juno) and Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball), and the recent MTV "Train" PSA directed by Mike Franzini that brings the Holocaust into a modern context.
A former editor with Spotwelders, Painter has spent the past three months freelancing at major editorial houses on a variety of projects including AT&T for GSD&M, directed by Ted Melphi, Safeway for DDB Chicago, directed by Andrew Becker and he also cut the online phenomenon "Matumbo Goldberg" for Rob Pearlstein, which has received over a Million, hits on break.com and showcased on Will Ferrell's online channel Funnyordie.com. He also spent the time getting to know the culture at each edit house and found he was most at home at Nomad.
"At Nomad, everyone is treated like family and there is a true sense of camaraderie," says Painter. "Tom and John are very involved in nurturing talent and there is an emphasis on quality work and a passion for the process. These elements really make the company exceptional and a great place to come every day."
