The internet has given a generation of young Jamaican musicians access to platforms where they can share their sound, grow their careers, and rise from a life of violence and poverty.
Co-directed by Nathan Miller and Anthony Williams, God Bless You, My Son, uses the voices of these young stars to paint a raw and honest portrait of Jamaica’s Trap Dancehall community.
The film is composed of powerful footage that captures many of the genre's biggest names, giving insight into how the style evolved from traditional music, and examines how Trap earned itself a dubious name despite the opportunities the culture provides for many young people.
