Electronic music artist Kalkbrenner has unveiled this mysterious, multi-part short film that merges music and storytelling, bringing a new narrative dimension to his two-track Kabelmann EP.

The two films, created by Mother and SMUGGLER and directed by award-winning director Björn Rühmann, follow the strange, uncanny character of Kabelmann (translating literally to cable man), and his search for meaning and connection in a strange human world.

While part one is inquisitive, playful, and mischievous techno, part two blends an optimistic melody with a violent climax. The video production embraced an analog aesthetic, capturing all footage on Kodak 16mm film. It is the second collaboration between Paul and Mother, who also produced the short film accompanying his track Shwer last year.
