Piers Morgan proves he's full of hot air in ITV hairdryer stunt
Presenter sends up his loud-mouth reputation with the launch of a 3D-printed gadget created by Uncommon.
Whatever your thoughts on Piers Morgan - notorious for his provocative views, Twitter outbursts and disruptive opinions on just about anything and everything - the man's not afraid to poke fun at himself.
Today [Monday 29 April] saw the Good Morning Britain presenter turn his reputation for spouting hot air into reality, as he unveiled a limited-edition hairdryer in his own image on live TV.
Created by ITV's AOR, Uncommon, and prop-making specialists Evolution VFX, the Morgan 3000 features a 3D-printed model of the presenter's shouting face moulded onto a hairdryer, which comes equipped with special features such as 'easy to press buttons', 'a short fuse', and 'heat settings from political correctness all the way up to vegan sausage rolls’.
In addition to the hairdryer, which will have a limited production run, the agency has created a series of tongue-in-cheek print and DOOH ads [above] shot by fashion photographer Miles Aldridge, including a hilarious image of Morgan's long-suffering co-presenter, Susanna Reid, holding the gadget at arm's length.
The provocative stunt marks a big tonal shift from Uncommon's brand film for ITV, released last week.
