It’s pussibley the most revoltingly fun facial care campaign we’ve seen for a while – an array of acne victims discharging their carbunkles accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.
Created by Deutsch New York, and directed by Crobin Leo, through Gravy, the spot-themed spot, titled Acne Aftermath, also features exploding cannons, volcanoes and champagne bottles, underlining what a blast the joy of the zit burst can be.
But though pimple-popping does apparently release the pleasure hormone dopamine, it can also leave scars, something the brand's scar treatments aim to correct.
“People love to pop pimples. It’s cringeworthy, but true,” said Deutsch NY Chief Creative Officer Dan Kelleher. “Differin’s expansion in their offering is anchored in understanding that achieving skin clarity is a journey, and no matter where the consumer is in the cycle, Differin has their back, or, in this case, their face.”
