Created by agency N2 and directed by Sakari Lerkkanen, through Director’s Guild, the spot, Cancer Research Saves Lives, follows a mother and her son facing two different cancer journeys.
While the first diagnosis is heart-wrenching, a twist in time occurs and we return to the same moment in time – the point at which the doctor delivers the prognosis… but this time, it's a more positive one.
Remarkably, the beautifully acted tale features an authentic cast (Liro Panula as the son, Maija Paunio as the mother and Taisto Oksanen as the doctor), who draw on their actual experiences of the moments portrayed in the film.
Atmospherically shot by DP Daniel Lindholm and set to affecting orchestral music composed by Juri Seppa, it ends with the empowering message that supporting research can lead to better outcomes for cancer victims.
