Animation historian Jerry Beck dubbed Leah Shore’s singularly odd and often raunchy work as either “genius or nonsense.”
This lively animation, Don't Touch Your Face, relating the tale of a mean moggie that employs violent methods to keep its owner from touching his face is, in shots' opinion, a genius bit of nonsense and very much up to scratch.
Shore (Cartoon Network, Google, MTV) and animator Rob Yulfo teamed up with Gina Volpe (guitarist of New York punk band Lunachicks) who created the catchy song.
Volpe said: “It started as my 20-second hand-washing song. But then I began singing it in my head because I became aware of just how much I like to touch my face.”
