Fans of foley and all things sound will relish the awesome acoustics of this trippy film created, directed and produced by Swim Club.
Promoting Urbanears’ noise cancelling earbuds Juno, the film is a response to the brief and tagline ‘Turn on, tune in, drop out’ and sees earbud wearers escaping the distracting clamour of every day life to get lost in a soothing world of swirling synth and techno beats.
An umpire turns a deaf ear to the thwack of a tennis ball, a woman floats away from a rustling newspaper reader, and, in a minimalist office reminiscent of the brilliant retro interiors of AppleTV show Severance, the ad concludes with a blissed-out worker lost in his own lush earbath – unable to hear the mechanical whirings and clatterings of photocopiers or shredders.
