An ice cream bought from a van on a cold, blustery (probably summer's) day by the seaside is as British as, well, a cold, blustery summer's day by the seaside.
This new short, written and directed by Zak Razvi, is a brilliantly observed film that features an array of unusual and interesting characters, each making the bold decision to purchase a cornet from a long-suffering ice cream man.
"I wrote this film over 10 years ago," said Razvi. "Mainly because I'm obsessed with ice cream. Whippy is about the desire to temporarily escape the mundanity of day-to-day life. On the surface, it's about an ice cream man, but it's more about dedication, persistence and escapism. In the middle of lockdown that felt like a pretty relevant story to tell!"
