New publisher at shots; Steve Ansell joins JWT New York; Simon Stock joins Godman; William Eccleshare moves to BBDO Europe; DDB London gets French creative team; Final Cut opens in LA; and more...

Pat Eggington has returned to EMAP as publishing director of the shots Group. Recently Pat has been publishing magazines in the worlds of motorsport and motorcycling, but in earlier years he spent time on Haymarket's then-innovative creative technology title, XYZ.

Steve Ansell has joined JWT New York as creative services director, a new position. Ansell most recently served as creative services director for Kirshenbaum, Bond + Partners. His hiring is the fourth in a series of creative upgrades since Ty Montague joined the agency in January.

Advertising photographer Simon Stock has signed to the roster at Godman in London for directing work. Stock has recently shot still projects for BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Castlemaine XXXX and Lexus, as well as a TV ad for the Jaguar XJ and a short film, The Apprentice.

"Simon's photographic work is beautiful," said Godman MD Ed Sayers. "He is a great new talent on the directing scene, with acres of experience to offer." Aerial and landscape photographs of New Zealand by Stock will also be on show at The Blink Gallery in London from April 15 until May 13.

William Eccleshare, currently chairman of Young & Rubicam/Wunderman for Europe, Middle East and Africa, is moving to BBDO as chairman and CEO of advertising and direct marketing for the EMEA region. He will take over from Jean-Michel Goudard, who is planning to retire at the end of this year.

Commenting on the appointment, BBDO Worldwide CEO Andrew Robertson said: "Jean-Michel Goudard has been threatening to retire for more than two years now, and made it clear that 2005 will be his last full year. In discussing the future with him, we have agreed that, given the scale, scope, complexity and potential of our European businesses, BBDO EMEA demands 100% focused leadership and management. William is the man to do it." It is not confirmed yet when Eccleshare will join the agency.

DDB London has enticed French creative team Damien Bellon and Thierry Albert to join its creative department, headed by Jeremy Craigen. Bellon and Albert join the agency from BDDP et Fils in Paris, where they have worked for the last five years as a senior creative team.

"Last year I said that I felt that most of the innovative creative work was coming from overseas," said Craigen. "Now I've put my money where my mouth is. Thierry and Damien produce simple, beautifully crafted ideas that work in any language and in any media. They will be a real asset to DDB London."

Final Cut editorial company, which already has offices in London and New York, has opened an office in LA. The LA office will be helmed by editors Jim Weedon from the New York office and Eric Zumbrunnen, who joins from Spotwelders, and exec producer Saima Awan.

Jill Young has joined biocoastal company Moo Management as an in-house producer and West Coast artists representative. Young was previously a producer for Gap in-house advertising, and a senior art buyer/TV-print producer for Lipman.

Lisa Boudreaux has joined Kaboom Productions in San Francisco as head of production. Boudreaux has been a freelance TV commercials producer since 1994 and has previously collaborated with Kaboom on many projects.
