Italian humanitarian organisation Emergency has released this haunting spot, which was created by Ogilvy Milan and sensitively directed by Igor Borghi, through The Family.

At the end of last year, the 'Salvini decree' – named after minister and far-right League leader Matteo Salvini – was issued by Italy’s populist government, removing humanitarian protection for immigrants and threatening to make thousands homeless. The bill abolishes humanitarian protection for those not eligible for refugee status but who cannot be sent home.

This powerful film reflects on the concept of home, following a young woman as she outlines her dreams of a future life full of friends, family, love and opportunities. Dreams that, ultimately, are out of reach for those rendered homeless and stateless.

Founded in Milan in 1994, Emergency provides human rights, healthcare and a range of services to victims of war, persecution and poverty around the world.
